Please I really want to know…A Cranky Crone Rant

I’m sitting in my office area, doing online research and now more writing and my husband is in the net room watching…Boomerang, the kids’ channel.

I can hear it even with the door partially closed — not all the way, to keep cats from scratching to enter and dog from whining.

He would rather sit in front of the TV and stare at cartoons than read. Reading is my go-to activity, next to writing.

This man wrote seven books, taught various high school and middle school grades, blacksmith, made swords, did reenacting, taught himself about herbal medicine. And now he sits.

Yes, he’s had some medical issues in the last ten years and I have helped him through them but now he doesn’t seem to want to take the responsibility for himself. He has to be told to take his pills. I take his blood sugar — he refuses to learn and admits he wouldn’t go to his post stroke therapies or do his own blood sugar if my daughter and I didn’t do it.

I’ve suggested he go to a counselor but he‘s informed me he was a counselor and therefore, knows all.

He’s still bright — he does read when I nag — but mostly it’s western books. He used to use the computer, read and write emails, and write with Word but now — nothing.
