Today or Tomorrow, George?

Blackout birth…

Today or tomorrow would have been George Harrison’s 77 birthday.

I’ve been listening to Sirius Beatles Channel and it does lift my spirits. Yesterday, I learned that George, “the Quiet Beatle” and certainly the most openly spiritual one was born in 1943 during a blackout. If you don’t know what Britain went through during WWII, you need to Google it and discover the hell of the Blitz. (One of the reasons for NATO, Mr. Trump). With the blackout and the electricity out — no one was exactly sure of which side of Midnight he’d arrived.

I heard his widow, Olivia, say that he would tease people. If he’d been wished a Happy Birthday on February 24, he would tell them it wasn’t his birthday. If he was wished it on February 25, he would say, they’d missed it.

So George, I will be wishing you Happy Birthday today and tomorrow.

BTW: I see all those pictures of you (and your mates) with a cigarette and want to rip it out of your hand. I couldn’t save John, but that could have saved you and given us more of your beautiful music and soul.
