Time to Apologize to Al Gore.

I’ll start…

It’s 2007 and I’m watching a very scary movie.

I sit on a folding chair in a local “art house” that shows movies that may not get to a big screen.

In this horror movie there are no zombies, aliens, or monsters destroying our planet.

Correction:

This movie shows that WE (humans of the 21st Century) are the monsters destroying the Earth.

I watch as (in his words) “the former next President of the United States,” Al Gore gives the scientific facts about what was then called “Global Warming.” I learned that changes in the earth’s atmosphere, caused by our over-dependency on fossils fuels, could make our planet’s climate very different, causing decreased food supply, increase in major storms and the subsequent death of our species.

The movie was met with a lot of derision, from citizens, politicians and big oil companies. The derision continued years later as noted in a Wikipedia post:

On February 26, 2015, Senator Inhofe (R-OK) brought a snowball to the Senate floor and tossed it before delivering remarks in which he said that environmentalists keep talking about global warming even though it keeps getting cold.
