Give me time to get in “the spirit” — pleeeease…”
This morning, November 7, Morgan and I went to McDonald’s after my PT appointment. The Rehab Hospital of Tower Health — (one of the best ones and that’s from an old rehab nurse) sits across from a a shopping center and Mickey D’s. Morgan loves Mickey D’s — I can only eat a few things if I’m not sitting directly on the toilet as I eat it.
But we went and parked in the lot to eat my meatless breakfast sandwich and his burritos so we could listen to a Janet Evanovich Stephanie Plum book (I LOVE the Libby app and Morgan loves Lula). I noticed, directly in front of me, a 50 foot high fake Christmas tree, decorated with a “Merry Christmas”banner at its base, sitting in the center’s parking lot.
I‘d just taken my Halloween decorations down…No, I lie — there are two or three still hanging. But I’m doing some basic planning for Thanksgiving — going to my stepdaughter’s to go to her husband’s parents probably for dinner (got that?). Christmas in not on my radar.
Last year at this time I was priding myself on getting an early start on presents and individualized presents at that and then blam! Stroke on December 12. The family in NY state came down to celebrate Christmas with us in the Rehab Hospital. That was lovely, but it wasn’t really like Christmas at home (or my stepdaughter’s home — yep, we…
