I was never one to watch reality television. In the beginning tried to watch Survivor and stopped after a a few episodes — — I just found it ridiculous. But during my latest hospitalization, I was bored and unable to concentrate to read. The widescreen TV sitting in front of my bed was my entertainment. I went from my 600 Pound Life to 1000 Pound Sisters to 90-day Fiancé to The Untold Stories of the ER and finally Doctor Pimple Popper.

As a retired RN sitting on a hard bed, unable to do very much for herself, I found watching the problems of others made mine feel so much smaller — from all the ER problems that people would have such as the man who was held by a boa constrictor in a glass cage to the young woman who hadn’t told anybody that she was pregnant but had been in a car accident.

But I returned constantly to Doctor Pimple Popper, Sandra Lee, and now that I’m home I’m still watching her.

There is something about Doctor Pimple Popper that is very personal for me. She is calm, gentle and evaluates her patients as people, giving her a great bedside manner. But there is more to my Doctor Pimple Popper watching. It seems that most of the problems she encounters are noncancerous tumors called lipomas, big juicy lipomas that she enjoys almost flipping out as she uses her fingers to go around them to make sure she gets every part.
